REPLY to Declaration of Independence (persuasive essay):
Independence is the only option left for us to take. We, the American colonists, have been unfairly taxed, had our houses searched, and have been shot at. It is time we take action!
Parliament has taxed us on sugar, paper, and tea. We have no representatives, no voice, in Parliament. We cannot speak out. We can't speak our minds and tell them that this is wrong. Taxation without representation is tyranny! Parliament makes all the decisions for us. How do they know what is best for the colonies if they are all the way across the ocean?
We have had our houses searched. Why? Because we were accused of smuggling goods. What proof do they have? What conformation do they have to search our house? Invade our space? They call it the writs of assistance. That is unfair. We, as human beings, have the right to privacy.
The British have shot at us. The British soldiers, were sent here meant to protect us. They were supposedly on our side. Instead they shot into a innocent crowd of people. Did they stop there? No they didn't. Our King, hired Hessians to fight against us. Brutal mercenaries to fight against his own people. The King is through with talking, and so are we.
The time is now, for Independence. Let us write our own laws and govern ourselves. Let us be united together and fight for freedom.

Boston Massacre
REPLY to Boston Massacre:
A: Most of the colonists would be appalled after looking at this picture, especially the ones who were not at the scene. What they saw when looking at the picture, was not an angry mob being shot by a group of soldiers trying to defend themselves. Instead, they saw a group of murderers shooting into an innocent crowd. To create propaganda, the picture had been exaggerated to the point that most of it wasn't true. Even the name of the incident exaggerated things. The names "Boston Massacre," "Kingstreet Massacre," and "Bloody Massacre," immedietly created a horrifying image. Colonists were angry and scared. Other colonies wondered if the soldiers would do that to them too. Their relationship with the British was greatly damaged. Even though many did not comprehend the situation, they were all riled up with hatred. That's why many were shocked when only two of the soldiers were found guilty. Many colonists weren't there to witness the shooting, they didn't exactly understand what was going on.
Q: In a paragraph describe the picture and how the picture and different names for the Boston Massacre would be viewed throughout the colonies if you didn't see the scene take place first hand. Remember that all but 2 of the soldiers would be found not guilty.

Sons of Liberty
REPLY to Mr. Givens Blog:
A: In the picture they have a light shining behind them. I think it means the Sons of Liberty are the hope of the American colonists; a light to lead their way. There is an air of superiority about them, the way they hold themselves and the way they tower over the British. They also seem mysterious, the way their faces are darkened and you can't make out who they are. All in all, this picture portrays them as independent, strong, and rebellious.
As an aside, I noticed how one of the Sons of Liberty is facing the viewer, making his two eyes visible. The other one, has his face turned to the side making only one eye visible. I'm not sure if the artist was sending out a hidden message, but I think the message is "one if by land, two if by sea."
Q: How are the British portrayed?
A: I think the British are portrayed as weak and small compared to the Sons of Liberty. They all seem so small and they all have to band together in order to face only two Sons of Liberty. All of them are hiding behind their weapons making them seem cowardly.
Q: Do you think the artist is against or for the Sons of Liberty?
A: I think the artist is for the Sons of Liberty because they're portrayed in a good way. A way that makes people look up to them. I think the artist looks up to them too.
Q: What do you like about the picture?
A: I like the whole picture a lot. What I particularly like is the way the artist drew the picture to convey a rebellious nature of the protagonists. I like the way the picture shows the Sons of Liberty standing strong; even against a whole army of British. The picture is like a message to the British; "You can do anything to us, and still we will stand strong for what we believe."
Q: What do you not like about the picture?
A: There is nothing I dislike about the picture, except that the picture's resolution isn't too good.
Q: Do you think you would have joined the Sons of Liberty or not? Why?
A: I would have joined the Sons of Liberty if they let me, -since I'm a girl- because I believe in fighting for Independence and protecting our natural rights. Even though sometimes I don't agree with their methods, such as tar and feathering, I still would want to be a part of them.

About Me!
Hey!
The name's Tiffany Wu. I am thirteen years old and loving it! Turning into a teenager was awesome! (Except for the fact I really hate growing up. Bleh... so boring to be an adult!)
Some random facts about:
Black is my favorite color.
I love white chocolate! <3
I am obsessed with manga and anime. =3
I often contridict myself...
Death Note is awesome! (ok this fact is not about me obviously) Durarara is awesome too!
I live with my mom and dad. I have a little six year old brother who's annoying at times. My grandmother also lives with us.
I play the piano and compose music from time to time. My hobbies include writing and filming. I also enjoy drawing on a rainy day. I like to travel but I get sick on the plane very easily.
Over the summer I went to China. It was really fun visiting my relatives. The bad part was that it was 100 some degrees outside. Going insane from heat doesn't seem appealing.
Fall is my favorite season even though I'm born in the winter time and love snow. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I like to decorate the house for the holidays (even though I am horrible at it and end up breaking ten ornaments.) I despise green Christmases. It doesn't look as festive.
I curently have writer's block and it's driving me crazy! Not to mention the huge headache that comes with it. -_-||| *sigh*
~Clearly uninspired...
